SBY to officiate WEF on Sunday



President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to officiate the World Economic Forum on East Asia 2011 in Jakarta at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The two-day event is expected to be attended by several regional leaders, including Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, and Mongolian Prime Minister Batbold Sukhbaatar.

CEOs of a number of multinational companies, including NEC, P&G, Unilever, GE, Coca Cola and Nestle, are among top business figures expected to attend the event.

The President earlier led a Cabinet meeting at his office in Jakarta on Thursday in preparation for the forum.

Indonesian Coordinating Investment Board head Gita Wirjawan has said CEOs of the global companies attending the event are expected to invest in Indonesia, adding the forum was the right medium to promote investments in the country, tribunnews.com reported.
